Research and Development Relief: Client Receives c.£235,000!

Research and Development (R&D) relief supports companies that work on innovative projects in science and technology. Introduced in 2000, the relief comes in the form of a tax credit.

Only 20% of eligible companies are claiming this relief, mainly because many are unsure whether they qualify.

We have recently had great success for our client Blucon Group, who has received a payment of just under £235,000.

The Client

Blucon Group offers a solution for all demolition and associated projects in the Birmingham area.

Since 2015, they have rapidly evolved into one of the fastest growing demolition companies in the UK, undertaking projects across a broad range of market sectors, including retail, residential development, industrial, education, leisure and rail.

Just like many other businesses, the client did not know they were eligible to claim. Our Research and Development Relief department worked on behalf of the client, and they were surprised when they made a saving of just under £235,000.

Innovation 4 Business

The knowledge held by our experienced consultants ensured we could provide relevant evidence to HMRC to show that the project was viable for the tax credit. Our Research and Development Relief consultants ensured optimum communication with the client and they were kept updated at every stage of the process.

“Gemma and her team worked tirelessly for us and, in a matter of weeks, secured us a tax rebate of c.£250,000.

We were delighted with this result – particularly in the current environment. It has helped our business enormously.”

Steve Whitehouse, Blucon Group Limited
